Sump Pump Failure in Lexington Basement

For the month of April we were super busy with multiple sump pump failures. Due to the water tables being so low and then rising rapidly because of the wet weather, customers had multiple inches of standing water in their properties.

SERVPRO responded to an emergency after hours water damage in the basement of an occupied single family home built in 2016 in which the cause of loss was sump pump failure.  Water affected the entire basement in every room including the flooring and lower walls.        

SERVPRO received approval for emergency services, after hours services, to exceed the ESL, extended drying days due to waiting for asbestos testing, extract water, subcontract asbestos testing, demo all lower walls down to the studs, remove and discard insulation, carpet, carpet pad, and tackless, apply a botanical anti-microbial to all affected building materials, install a 1000 CFM HEPA filtered AFD (air filtration device), and install drying equipment using LGR dehumidification and axial air movers for evaporation, with daily monitoring.
