Hurricane Matthew makes moves in North Carolina
SERVPRO responded to an emergency water damage in an occupied single family residence built in 1975 in which the cause of loss was flooding due to Hurricane Matthew. The Category 3 water affected the lower walls and flooring in all rooms on the main level, and affected the ceiling and walls in the crawlspace. SERVPRO did not inspect the residence until October 21, and visible microbial growth was recorded in several rooms.
The homeowner authorized SERVPRO all services listed in this estimate including removing all affected Category 3 building materials, remediate any visible microbial growth, apply a botanical anti-microbial to all affected building materials, and dry the structure using LGR dehumidification and axial air movers for evaporation per the IICRC S500 Standard. (2) 1000 CFM HEPA filtered AFDs were installed in the structure to collect airborne microbial spores, bacteria, and particulates aerosolized from the Category 3 water. Asbestos testing was performed in rooms that needed demo, and the test results came back negative.
