Hurricane Matthew brings up the floors
SERVPRO responded to an emergency water damage in an occupied single family residence built in 1986 in which the cause of loss was flooding from Hurricane Matthew. The Category 3 water affected all lower walls and flooring on the main level. The structure had been wet for one month before SERVPRO started water mitigation/mold remediation services.
SERVPRO removed the affected paneling walls, hardwood flooring, vinyl flooring, and tile flooring. There were several layers of wood sub flooring discovered once the floor coverings were removed. SERVPRO removed the wood plank sub flooring, but informed the customer that they were unable to remove the plywood sub flooring under the wood plank sub flooring because the walls and stairway were built on top of the plywood sub flooring. A botanical anti-microbial was then applied to all affected areas, and SERVPRO proceeded to dry the structure using LGR dehumidification and axial air movers for evaporation, monitored daily.
